French Connection Silver Fern Farms teamed up with France's biggest retail co-operative Intermarche in October to roll out a range of chilled, consumer ready Silver Fern™ lamb into French retail meat cabinets for the first time. All Blacks Andrew Hore, Ma'a Nonu and Tony Woodcock were on hand as part of the marketing launch and to promote the quality attributes of New Zealand's 'second' most recognizable product.
The supply agreement with Intermarche – and other members of Silver Fern Farms' Partnership Clubs – provide important spill down benefits to farmer partners, providing a direct link between the consumer and our farmers, and tangibly demonstrating the value of our plate to pasture strategy.
Anuga bitte Attendees from amongst the 23 countries represented at the Silver Fern Farms customer conference at Anuga 2009 – the world's largest biennial food show – were excited about Silver Fern Farms' new strategy and impressed by our new look and vision for the future.
The company hosted key customers from Germany, the UK, Netherlands, Canada and the USA, and from as far afield as Saudi Arabia and Korea, Cyprus, Qatar and Oman.
Marketing executives report that while economic challenges remain - particularly in regions such as North America and Asia - there are already signs of improvement brought about by economic stimulus packages, and a willingness to pay premium prices for quality products such as lamb, prime beef and venison.
